Coils

Although it may be but small the coil is one of the most important parts of a vape. The coil is where the magic happens. The type of coil changes not only the flavour but also the performance of the vape. Two different coils can make the same e-liquid taste completely different and change the draw of the vape entirely. This is why we stock one of the largest ranges of coils available in Northampton. To get the most of your vape we highly recommend you only use the highest quality genuine coils and ensure you change them regularly. If you need help with choosing the right coil for your device and e-liquid check out our online chat where one of our team will be on hand to help you.

Frequently Asked Questions About Coils

Why do vape coils go bad?

Coils will go bad over time due to use. Your coil soaks up the liquid you put inside, which primes the coil to make sure it doesn’t burn out as soon as you begin to use it. Over time, and after extended use of your device, your coil will start to turn a dark copper-like colour, and the visible cotton will start to turn a deep ochre shade. When you then take a pull on the device it could produce an unpleasant burning flavour. This indicates that your coil has reached the end of its lifespan.

Which vape coil do I need?

Different devices require different coils, however some vape devices have interchangeable coils. If you have a Sub-Ohm device (Direct Lung), the box for the device sometimes tells you which coils to use with that specific vape. Mesh coils produce larger amounts of vapour and provide you with more of the flavour from the e-juice you are using. Traditional coils are much smaller than mesh coils, therefore they are much better suited to smaller, MTL (Mouth to Lung) devices, or to the increasingly popular pod mods.

When should I change my vape coil?

You’ll know when you need to change your coil when it begins producing a burning taste. This indicates that the coil has reached the end of its lifespan and that it’s time to change your coil. You can do this yourself at home, or you can bring your device into the store and have the coil changed for you.

How is a vape coil made?

Put simply, coils are made using resistive wire and absorbent materials. The resistance generated from the coil’s wires ultimately heats the tanks e-juice in order to transform it into vapour, delivering the nicotine into your system. The general mechanics of producing coils is the same for all different types of vapes.

Can you reuse / recycle vape coils?

Each segment of a vape can be recycled, including the batteries and coils. The tank’s glass can also be recycled, as well as all of the metal and other materials used to create the device. It’s also important to remember that your e-juice bottles are made from plastic, so these can be recycled also.

Can I vape CBD oil?

No, you cannot vape CBD oil. Most CBD oils are for oral consumption only, for example CBD drops which would go underneath the tongue. However, there are a few options when it comes to consuming CBD via different devices. Some liquids are made with CBD already in the bottle, you just have to decide on the strength of the CBD and the flavour of the liquid. There are also concentrated bottles of CBD you can purchase and add to your short-fill e-liquid. Depending on the device and coils that you use, you’ll find that you’ll be more suited to one of these respectively.
